It’s me, Buddy and The Bear……Heigh-ho! Heigh-ho!

It’s off to find the gopher we go!

I’m the brains! The Bear is the brawn!

Come out! Come out! Where ever you are!

Bees!!!! Lotsa Bees! But no gopher!

I must have scared him off! I need a drink and a nap!
Whew! It must be 107 degrees already!  Where’s Buddy!?

Hee-hee-hee! The Bear’s not a corgi. He’s a ” fish”!

  2. Oh, would you boys love to visit our backyard. Glenn seems to have given up on the Gopher war he waged for several summers in a row. I’m waiting for the whole backyard to collapse under us one day…there are holes (and, I assume, tunnels linking those hoes) all over the grass. I only throw the ball for the girls in one small part of the yard now; I’m concerned that they will step in a gopher hole when they are running.

Good luck catching that gopher–you don’t want him (and his buddies) to mess up all that hard work your PA did!

    • We had a lot of holes too. When we put in the sod we pursued them aggressively and cleared them out (or ran them into other yards!) We planted society garlic. Supergopher just tunnels around it.. He has been trying for a month now to get into the yard. We have gassed him, chewing gummed him, society garliced him, softner sheeted him. We do a gopher watch everyday. He only gets about 3 to 4 feet inside the fence because we also flood him. We are determined to get him one way or another. If you have anymore suggestions we would appreciate it. We heard mothballs down the hole will work. We are trying that next. His home is in the other yard but the neighbor is not interested in getting rid of him.

Hey guys. So glad you are back to blogging. The yard is wonderful and I do enjoy knitting there in the morning but I also enjoy showing you off (and using you) with kids at school. It will be good to go back knowing I have you as a resource again. = )

PS the yarn is much prettier in person!!!
